Hi, my name is Cheryl, and I’m the owner of Dog Stylez Grooming Salon in Desert Hot Springs, CA. I opened my shop almost three years ago, inspired by the love I have for my dog Roxy, who truly gave me the courage to follow my dream. With help from my first GoFundMe and an incredible outpouring of support, I was able to open the doors to Dog Stylez.

Since then, I’ve put my heart and soul into building a safe, loving space for pets in our community. But the reality is — I wasn’t prepared for all the costs and responsibilities that come with running a small business. I’ve had no help with budgeting, no guidance, and no backup when things got hard. And over time, it all caught up with me.

One of the biggest setbacks was the flooring, which was installed incorrectly. Rips formed, allowing mop water to soak underneath, creating damage and safety issues. I've been trying to fix it myself, one room at a time on my days off, but it’s been expensive and exhausting, and it’s slowed me down — both financially and mentally.

Now, I’m behind on rent and bills, and my landlord has made it clear: if I don’t pay everything in full by next week, I’ll be evicted and forced to shut down Dog Stylez.

This business is more than just income to me — it’s my purpose, my second home, and a place where so many pets and their people feel safe and cared for. I’m asking for help to raise $7,000 to get caught up and keep this dream alive.

It’s really not even about chasing a dream anymore honestly— it’s about making sure the pets in our community still have a safe, reliable place to go. Many of my clients trust me because their pets are nervous, elderly, or need a little extra patience, and I never want them to lose that option.

Repairs, rising costs, and a tough season have put me behind, and I’m asking for help to get back on track — for them. Every donation goes toward keeping the space safe, clean, and open for the pets who need it most.
