Hi, this is Dr. Grey! As some of you may or may not know, Wednesday night, we noticed Doctor had yellowing of the skin. Thursday morning, my husband Brandon took her to the vet, and we found out she has jaundice. Her bilirubin was 17mg when the normal level is 0.5mg. This indicated something was very wrong. We were quoted almost $2,000 for an ultrasound and liver sample, not including any surgeries, medications, or other treatment plans that might be in store for her.
Since her initial vet visit, she has quickly declined and hides in a spot all day, won’t move, won’t eat, drink, or use the litter box. We have been force-feeding her water and food with not much luck.
A little back story of our Dr.
We rescued Doctor from our old apartment complex where our neighbor dumped her because their dogs were attacking her. Then, come to find out, the neighborhood cats were attacking her, and she was sleeping in storm drains for safety, the neighbor informed us. We were on our nightly stroll when we happened upon her and went and got her some food. The neighbor who dumped her saw us, spoke with us, and asked us to take her home, and of course, no questions asked, we did. That was over 6 years ago, and we have come to absolutely fall in love with her. The thought that she could be leaving us soon has us in absolute shambles.
We are so heartbroken that this illness came on so sudden and so fast. We want to do everything we can to help her in hopes she can recover, but we unfortunately don’t have the funds for the multiple tests, medications, and possible procedures she might need. So we are asking for any help from our friends, family, and the public. No donation is too small, and even just a share means the world to us.
Please help us save our cat who is our family and keep our family whole! We love her so much, and we know it’s not her time yet
