Denver has been a beloved part of my family for years, and anyone who knows us knows how much we love dogs. Over the years, we’ve fostered countless dogs and found them loving homes. We’ve even rescued strays, paying out of our own pockets for heartworm treatments, spay/neuter surgeries, and all the necessary shots and parasite control. Denver is also a diabetic, and it already takes a lot to manage his insulin and special diabetic dog food. Thankfully, he’s healthy and his A1C levels are well managed with his medication and care.
Recently, Denver was diagnosed with a hernia in his groin area. The vet explained that if it grows, it could cut off blood flow to his organs—a life-threatening situation. The only way to save him is through surgery. As someone who has just finished two years of chemotherapy for breast cancer and is now cancer free, I know how precious life is. However, the cost of my own treatment and related surgeries has left me with thousands of dollars in medical debt, making it impossible to cover Denver’s surgery on my own.
Please help me, help my dog. It would break my heart into a million pieces to lose him this way. Thank you for taking the time to read about our plight. I appreciate anything anyone can do to help Denver get the surgery he needs to keep living a happy, healthy life.
