Hey everyone,

We are the parents of a very special little dog called Daisy. Daisy is a two year old Dachshund who was rescued by my partner shortly after Christmas. Despite being so young, she had already been through two previous homes and sadly her last experience was with someone who was not kind to her.

She arrived nervous and unsure of the world, but from the moment she came into our lives, all we wanted was to give her the love, safety and stability she deserved.

Shortly after bringing Daisy home, we took her for a routine veterinary check-up. What we discovered was heartbreaking. Daisy is going blind in both eyes.

We don’t know how long she has been struggling with her eyesight, and there was nothing noted in her previous records. We can’t help but wonder if this may have contributed to why she was given up in the first place. What we do know is that she deserves so much better than the hand she has been dealt.

The good news is that there is a chance to save Daisy’s sight through specialist surgery. The difficult news is that the procedure is expected to cost up to £5,000 and time is incredibly important. The longer we wait, the greater the risk that her vision could be lost permanently.

Anyone who has met Daisy knows what a wonderful little dog she is. She is affectionate, gentle, playful and full of love despite everything she has been through. After being passed from home to home, she has finally found her forever family and we are determined to do everything we can to give her the happy future she deserves.
