My bearded dragon, Cricket has muscular dystrophy. This condition makes her muscles weak all throughout her body, including her intestines which makes her prone to constipation. She’s become constipated so badly that she needs surgery to save her life as she won’t be able to pass it otherwise. Her surgery is on Tuesday. I love her so much and I genuinely can’t imagine losing her. She’s only 2 and has so much life ahead of her. She’s the sweetest most loving girl.
The funds will be to cover the cost of the surgery itself. I’ve been able to afford all the vet visits up til now. I just wasn’t expecting such a large bill all at once. It’s a lot for me and my husband to shell out. I’ve made it all work. But this is a heftier bill, and I need to do right by my babygirl. She means the absolute world to me, and in my eyes everyone who helps cover this might as well be saving her with their own hands. I could never express what it would mean to my silly little weird heart to keep my girl safe and happy and healthy. The vet expects a good quality of life with a liquid diet and careful monitoring going forward. This would extend her life to its full expectancy. I couldn’t ever express in words my appreciation for anyone who helps, no matter how much or how little. Everything helps, truly. I love her so much, I’ll do anything for her.
