Keep Crackers Island Grille Serving Our Community

PLEASE HELP SAVE CRACKERS ISLAND GRILLE

As a long-time supporter of Crackers Island Grille, I wanted to reach out and share an urgent situation that this beloved restaurant is currently facing. For the past nine years, Crackers Island Grille has been more than just a place to grab a bite; it has been a cherished family-owned establishment that has served our community with love and dedication.

Unfortunately, the original landlord, who was well-loved in the community, passed away two years ago. He was a true gentleman. Since then, his son and daughter-in-law have taken over, and it has been a difficult time for this wonderful family. Recently, a main water line broke within the walls of their unit and caused the building to partially flood. Thankfully, they were able to reopen the same day, alongside their neighbor, the dog groomer in the unit next to them. However, both businesses suffered a loss in sales due to the incident.

Despite this being a maintenance issue that falls squarely on the landlord's shoulders, they were shocked to learn that he had initiated a termination of their lease and an eviction process. Throughout their nine years of operation, they have always paid the rent on time, kept the pathway and parking area clean and tidy, and maintained the area behind the building. At no fault of theirs, they had to enlist the help of an attorney; however, the matter is currently tied up in the court system.

As they search for a new location to continue serving their loyal customers, they are burdened with additional moving and deposit costs, not to mention the legal fees. This situation impacts not only their business but also the livelihoods of their dedicated employees and their families—most notably, their daughter, who has been a vital part of their journey from the very beginning. Everyone associated with this restaurant feels like one big family, which is a lovely aspect of their workplace.

That’s why I’ve decided to create this GoFundMe campaign. The funds raised will go directly towards covering their legal fees and moving expenses, allowing them to keep Crackers Island Grille alive and thriving in our community. Any support—big or small—I know would mean the world to them during this incredibly trying time.

Together, we can ensure that Crackers Island Grille remains a place where we can gather with friends and create wonderful memories.
