Help Save Costa’s Life – Time Is Running Out

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and an urgent plea.

In April 2025, our beloved friend and community member, Costa, was diagnosed with Stage 4 IDH-wildtype Glioblastoma - a rare and aggressive brain cancer. It’s inoperable, highly resistant to treatment, and the NHS has given him a devastating and unthinkable prognosis.

Until recently, Costa was fit and healthy - enjoying life as a devoted husband, father, son, brother and proud grandfather. This diagnosis has turned his world, and his family’s, upside down. What happened to Costa could happen to any of us.

He has nearly completed the only treatment the NHS can offer: radiotherapy and chemotherapy. But due to the tumour’s nature, it is unlikely to be effective. There’s been no real advancement in Glioblastoma treatment in the UK for decades, and brain tumours receive just 1% of national cancer research funding.

A man with a heart of gold who has spent his whole life lifting others up and bringing joy to everyone around him is now facing the toughest battle of his life. But despite the odds, there is hope - and that’s why we’re asking for your help.

A Lifeline - But at a Terrible Cost;

Costa has been offered access to promising therapies in Germany, as well as a place on a private trial in London. This includes cutting-edge immunotherapy such as Peptide and DC vaccines, and Oncothermia - treatments that are giving patients like Costa a real fighting chance.

But they are not available through the NHS, and the total cost is staggering: surpassing £450,000.

What We’re Fighting For;

Costa’s wife, Christalla, and his children, Sophia, Dimitri, Andoni and Christo, as well as his two grandsons are doing everything they possibly can, but they cannot do this alone.

We are raising funds for the following critical immunotherapy treatments:

 • Oncothermia Treatment (London Trial) - £36,000
• Three-Phase Immunotherapy (IZOK Clinic, Cologne) - £298,000
• DC Vaccine (Laboratories Dr Gansauge, Munich) - £30,000
• Peptide Vaccine (CeGat, Tübingen) - up to £100,000
