Coconut was found roaming around outside by a kind man. His tummy was incredibly bloated and the man was concerned about this baby's health. He reached out to me for help but I was out of the country, and already overwhelmed with stray cat rescue bills.
We tried to ask others to step in and take over this case due to our limited resources but nobody could help. I could not let this cat suffer further on the streets, so with the help of the kind man, the cat was taken to the vet.
The following investigations were done:
1. X-ray was done but inconclusive as his belly was filled with fluid and organs were not visible.
2. Corona and FIP test were done - negative.
3. Blood tests revealed anemia, high infection rate, and liver failure.
The cat is now hospitalised for the next 3 days and the doctors will try their best to save him, giving him medications to reduce the fluid in his belly, clear infection, and support liver function.
Due to tests and treatment his bill is very high. The current bill is 1560 QAR (321GBP). This is just an initial bill and I am expecting that the cat will be hospitalized for a longer period of time than 3 days.
I took this case on because I really did not want to leave this poor cat suffering on the streets, alone and scared. Despite living a tough life on the streets, he is so loving, affectionate and friendly.
Please consider donating to Coconut's care - I would be incredibly grateful, every little bit helps tremendously.
Thank you so much.
