Coco, my one-eyed kitteh, has always been a survivor. I found her five years ago in the mountains of the Gold Country after her previous owner abandoned her. Despite her rough start, Coco has the sweetest disposition and loves nothing more than sitting in my lap, especially in the sunbeams. I promised her she would never go hungry or be at the mercy of wild animals again.
Last night, Coco was hiding, and when I finally found her, she was panting, very floppy, and crying. I rushed her to the 24-hour emergency vet, where they diagnosed her with severe anemia and put her in an oxygen chamber. For those who know about such things, her "PVC" is just 8, which is dangerously low. The vet suspects she may have been poisoned by getting into some mothballs. Her prognosis will greatly improve if she gets a blood transfusion, but the vet requires payment in advance to proceed. I have already paid for her initial care, but without the transfusion, she may not survive the next 48 hours.
All funds raised will go directly to what the vet charges in advance for Coco's blood transfusion. I am doing everything I can to raise the funds and would be so grateful for any help. If you can't donate but could offer a short-term loan, please contact me directly. Thank you for reading about Coco and me and for any support you can offer.
