Cloud is my mischevious 4.5 year old cat, and he is the heart of my home. I'm fundraising to fund his surgery and save his life

He’s affectionate, playful, and endlessly loving. The kind of cat who screams at the top of his lungs for attention, follows you everywhere (yes, including the shower) and insists on being right in your face at all times just to make sure you’re okay. He loves forehead kisses and he has the biggest personality packed into a fluffy little body.

However, about two months ago everything changed. In a split second, Cloud launched for my granola bowl and swallowed an almond while trying to get to my yogurt - his all time favourite treat. That one moment almost cost him his life, and within 24h he was diagnosed with an intestinal blockage and went into an emergency surgery. We were hopeful that surgery would fix everything, but unfortunately we didnt get the happy ending.

After the surgery Cloud developed complications. He was hospitalized and treated for not one but two post-operative infections. Despite doing everything recommended and following every treatment plan, nothing seemed to work. The vet team were unable to pinpoint the issue ans we were further referred onto specialist care for urgent assessments.

During all of this, Cloud stopped being himself. The cat who used to scream for attention, follow me around, and play endlessly is now quiet, withdrawn, and barely moves from that one spot. He’s lethargic, growly, and no longer interacts the way he used to. Watching him lose who he is has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Right now, his condition is still unclear. There is a high risk that he may need another major surgery and there is also a possibility of sepsis, which is life-threatening. The situation is urgent and every decision is being made with the goal of saving his life. Costs for his hospital stay and further surgery are estimated to reach £10,000+ with the possibility of rising depending on how his condition progresses and unfortunately beyond my insurance limit hence not covered.

These expenses are completely unexpected, but they are necessary to give Cloud a fighting chance.

I never imagined needing to ask for help like this, but I would do anything for him. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering Cloud’s veterinary bills and helping him get the treatment he needs to survive and hopefully return to the loving, loud, joyful cat he once was.
