The Jungle Zoo in Cleethorpes needs your help!
The Jungle Zoo is a tightknit and friendly attraction at the heart of Cleethorpes hosting a huge variety of wild animals but sadly, it's future is in jeopardy due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.
The Jungle Zoo has always been hooked on the idea of helping educate both young and old on the need to protect animals and to help promote their future on the earth. From small Amphibians such as the 'African Bull Frog' too much larger Mammals like the 'White Throated Capuchin' and 'Ring Tailed Lemur'... not forgetting the Meerkats! But with recent events, it hasn't been possible to open and has since been putting huge financial stress on its future!
With half the season already gone, it's a huge loss to funds that keeps them functioning over winter while it's closed. Currently, it costs roughly £3000 BEFORE food bills a month, which goes up to £6000 during winter! Electricity itself accounts for £1600 a month due to the heating cost for exotic reptiles. The Zookeepers have stepped up are currently even volunteering their own time to help during this tough financial time but it's still a time of crisis for The Jungle Zoo's future.
It was hoped that the attraction could reopen on the 15th of June 2020, however, due to the majority of the zoo being indoors, this isn't possible and means it will remain closed until further notice. With the zoo having been closed for almost 3 months already, you can understand how hard-hitting this is for a small local zoo!
