UPDATE: Chuy made it through surgery and so far is doing well. He’s still at SAVES so they can monitor him for any issues, but we’re hopeful that he will be okay.

If you know Chuy, you can’t help but love him. He’s everyone’s best friend and the guardian of the farm, always looking out for all of us. Last night, Chuy started throwing up and before long we knew something was really wrong. We brought him to SAVES where they determined his stomach had twisted and the only chance to save him is emergency surgery. We couldn’t bear to let him go without trying to save him, and as I write this now Hugo and I are sitting in the waiting room hoping he makes it through.

Chuy means the world to us and to everyone who knows him. He’s brought so much joy and love to our lives, and now he needs our help. The cost of this surgery is not something we ever could have anticipated, and without help I’m not sure how we’ll be able to pay for it.
