HELP CHIMAK HOUSE STAY IN BUSINESS

Donation protected

We had a very rough 2-year journey...
As our last option, we decided to ask for help saving our business.

A week after signing our five-year Lease Agreement in March of 2020, LA County ordered the first Lockdown.

All government funding was denied because business started after the pandemic.

Dining in was not allowed in this 5,000 SQFT Restaurant.

The landlord gave us no breaks. We paid the full rent a couple of times and then started paying 25% because we barely made $1000/month due to the restriction on dining at restaurants.

The business started taking off after we received our Beer & Wine License in July of 2021.
By March of 2022, Chimak House finally began to get busy.

Then on May 12th, 2022, the fire.
Our Insurance company covered our personal property, but the main damage, which was our flooring, was not our personal property. It was the Landlords.

The Landlord refused to put in a claim through her insurance. She argued that the accident was not her fault and should not have to pay more on her insurance premium. She refused to work something out on fixing her property.

The argument ended with her asking for all of our backed-up rent, and maybe she will start fixing all the things that need to be fixed. (We have leaks and other problems they have not fixed for us for two years.)

The conversation ended when the landlord asked for a favor... she wanted us to put in a claim for her sprinkler that popped off through OUR insurance! SMH...

It took two and a half months to get Chimak House back open. Thanks to Rainbow Carpet, we were able to get our flooring at a discounted price. (2000 SQFT of flooring... it was still well over $14,000)

Chimak House is getting busier, but we cannot reach our full potential due to the debt caused by the pandemic.
If we did not see potential growth for Chimak House, we would not even have bothered to save this business.
We launched our funding page to get help paying off our backed up rent caused by the pandemic.

Please help us stay in business! Any support will help us out... Donations, Yelp reviews, Instagram posts, Google reviews, Tik-tok reels, etc.
Please help us to spread the word by posting our gofundme link on social media!

Thank you so much!
I appreciate your support!

Now we know why they didn't want to use their insurance... it was a big job! We didn't have money to do the entire construction. We had to do what we can do with our budget. They just covered this up and have been renting this place out to tenants.
