My name is Paula Chaves, and I am a veterinary emergency nurse.
This is my sweet girl, Chica, who has a large mass on her liver. It is highly suspected that it’s a cancerous mass (the type of cancer is unknown at this time until pathology testing comes back). Although stable for the time being, this mass can rupture at any moment and cause her to have internal bleeding. Surgery is crucial to her survival.
She will need surgery to remove the mass and parts of her liver. She will potentially need chemotherapy depending on what type of cancer the mass is.
With that being said, although I work in the veterinary industry, I am still facing a large estimate of 8-10k for the surgery alone (not including the potential chemotherapy). A sum that my wage as a veterinary technician cannot afford.
I am humbly asking if you or anyone you know can help me save my girl so she can get her surgery and have a couple more years by our side.
