Hello, my name is Alvin and I am helping the family to create this fundraiser for our cat Chi Chi. Chi Chi is our beloved 2.5-year-old British Shorthair, born on March 10th, 2023. He has always been a bright, playful, and affectionate boy who fills our lives with joy.

On September 9th, Chi Chi suddenly stopped eating and began struggling to breathe. We rushed him to the Emergency Room and the doctors suspected congestive heart failure due to fluid in his lungs. He was immediately placed on IV medication and oxygen support. It broke our hearts to see him in pain, trying so hard to be near us even though he could barely breathe.

The following morning, September 10th, Chi Chi underwent an echocardiogram with the cardiologist. The test confirmed our worst fears—Chi Chi has congestive heart failure caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This is a serious condition, and he will need lifelong treatment.

Right now, Chi Chi is still in the ICU on oxygen, fighting to clear the fluid from his lungs. The doctors are doing everything they can, but his condition remains critical. If he can stabilize, he will be able to come home with us and continue his treatment with oral medication for the rest of his life.

We are devastated. We regret not having pet insurance for him earlier—now, no insurance will cover him since he is already diagnosed. His ICU stay and treatments have already cost $5,600 in just first 12 hours, and the bills are continuing to rise. Despite the financial burden, we cannot give up on Chi Chi. He is still so young and has so much love left to give.
