Chewie was the last chosen male puppy from his litter, and he gets his name from Chewbacca! After about a year in his fur-ever home, Chewie was sent back because his adopters didn’t have the time or energy to care for him like he needed. My family took him back with open arms, and he quickly became a well-behaved and happy boy. Like all dogs, though, he sometimes gets into trouble.

Recently, Chewie ate a sock without us knowing. He couldn’t keep food down, and we first thought he might be allergic to his food. After switching his food and seeing no improvement, we took him to the ER vet. Scans revealed the sock and a blockage in his intestines. At first, it seemed like the blockage was moving, but it suddenly stopped, and now a piece remains stuck in his stomach. Chewie needs emergency surgery to survive.

Chewie is a huge part of our family and still lives at home with his fur mom and fur sister. The surgery is expensive, and we wouldn’t ask for help if we didn’t have to, but we are trying to save our sweet boy. Any support means the world to us. Thank you for reading and caring about Chewie.
