Hi, this is Chewbacca. He is a 4 year old Goldendoodle with the best personality. He loves to play fetch and will find every ball you own. He is loving and friendly to dogs and people, (unless you wear a hat and sunglasses, that is very very scary to him.)

He has a lot of nicknames, Chewbacca the Mighty Wussy, Fluffybutt, and Mushball are just a few that our 5 boys have given him over his lifetime with our family.

Chewie is my first dog, and right now we need some help to save him. About 3 weeks ago, he developed an infection from a possible insect or snake bite. He was treated but didn't really return to normal. We had him checked out at his follow-up and bloodwork was done. Results came back this week and he was immediately recommended for the hospital due to his low platelet count. Today, May 4th, we were told he has a 50/50 chance at survival given his condition. While those odds are not the best, we are confident that if money were no object, we would save him in a heartbeat. That being said, we are out of options for financing this treatment.

We are still unsure what the diagnosis is, but we have been given an estimate of around $2300 for his bill. With 5 kids, a dog, 3 cats, and a house to support, we are struggling with the knowledge that this bill will put us even deeper in the hole than we already are.

If you can help offset this cost, even by a dollar, it would mean to world to us and our kids. All money will be used to cover his medical expenses; anything over our goal or our final costs will go into a doggy savings account to allow for any future vet bills.
