Cheif, or Cheefy as we lovingly call him, is my 5-year-old Red Tri Australian Shepherd. He’s always been a healthy, happy, and active dog—my best friend, my weekend breakfast buddy, and the heart of our family. Last Sunday, everything changed out of the blue. Cheefy suddenly became very ill and ended up in the ICU, where he was diagnosed with lymphoma. My heart is shattered and I’m still struggling to understand how this could happen to such a young, vibrant dog. Just finding out what was wrong has already been very expensive, and the expenses for his care and treatment are overwhelming. I want to do everything I can to save my Cheefy and make whatever time he has left as comfortable and happy as possible. He deserves a chance to fight, and I can’t bring myself to give up on him when there’s still hope. His life expectancy should be 12-15 years, and five is just too young to be facing this battle. I work full time and do my best, but I can’t afford the cost of his care on my own. I’m not asking for charity, but if you feel it in your heart to help Cheefy, I would be more grateful than words can say.
