My dog Charlie is a 9 years old Labrador Retriever and he is the sweetest ever. I noticed his eyes were a little opaque and so I took him to the vet and the vet said Charlie needed to see a specialist. It took a couple of weeks before Charlie could see the specialist and in the meantime he started bleeding from one of his eyes.

Today he got examined by the specialist and he was diagnosed with cataracts. The specialist said that in the eye that had bled that it was “the worst case of cataracts I’ve seen in a dog”. The specialist also said that the eyes could explode at any time and he would lose that eye. There is also a chance he could die.

I have been quoted between $9612 and $10217 (Australian) for the surgery for both cataracts to be removed. The gofundme.com takes 2.9% for fees +0.30$ per do donation, so allowing $220 donation fees.

I’m completely devastated as I lost my Job and I’m currently on unemployment benefit. I need to raise as much money as possible so I can book the surgery as soon as I can.
