Hi everyone,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help for our sweet, happy girl, Callie. Callie is still so young, only 4. But she has been through a series of incredibly difficult hurdles lately that no dog should have to face.
It started with a past injury from a bee sting that unfortunately led to Callie needing her first eye surgically removed. We were prepared to do whatever it took to help her heal, but during her recovery from that major surgery, tragedy struck again. Callie accidentally bumped her remaining eye, which triggered a sudden and painful case of acute glaucoma.
Despite our best efforts and immediate emergency care, Callie has now lost all vision in that eye. Our sweet girl is now completely blind.
So far, we have spent $2,500 on surgeries, emergency vet visits, and medications to save her. As a young, growing family, we have reached our limit. The vet has informed us that to keep Callie comfortable and pain-free, her second eye must also be removed. This surgery will cost an additional $2,000.
We want more than anything to keep Callie with our family and help her adjust to her new life as a blind dog—we know she can still live a happy, full life with people who love her. However, if we cannot raise the funds for this final surgery, we are facing a devastating choice that no pet owner ever wants to make: surrendering her or euthanasia.
Callie is a member of our family, and we aren't ready to say goodbye.
We are asking our friends, family, and community to help us give Callie this last chance. Any amount, no matter how small, goes directly toward her surgery and recovery. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing her story.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us save our girl.
