Help Save Caesar Our Anatolian Shepherd Dog

Please Help Save the Life of My Anatolian Shepherd Dog...Caesar

There are pets that we care for and then there are those special ones who are true companions and members our family. Caesar is my "Big Boy" and such a one  -- a beautiful brindle-colored Anatolian Shepherd* dog -- and why I am posting this to ask for your help to save Caesar.

To look into Caesar's eyes, it is like one is gazing at unconditional love. When he comes and puts his head on my chest, I all but melt.   He is not demanding but patient and just wants to love you. Now, very sadly my buddy has gotten so sick from severe pneumonia, we almost lost him at the Vet a couple of days ago.   The Vet told us to immediately take Caesar to the local Animal Hospital here on Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn. We rushed him on the stretcher that the Vet placed him on. When we got there, they were ready and waiting and brought him directly to the ER. He was clearly going into a kind of shock.  The attending Vet later told us she felt Caesar was dying and would not make it.

The Choice We Faced: Would Caesar Get a Chance To Live ...Or Die Right There in the ER
The Animal Hospital gave us a choice -- to try to save him -- although it would entail a lot of procedures and treatments they said and it was not guaranteed at all that he would make it. Then, the hospital informed us of what it would all cost and told us that we had to pay money upfront –– money which we do not have. Yes, one could become angry with hospitals that charge for pets so much but they have to do what they have to do.  If you've ever faced a situation of life and death with a dearly loved pet, you know what this horrible feeling is like...how helpless your feel and how much you would do anything to save your dog or cat.  For Caesar, I knew that I could not do nothing...and watch my buddy die there on the examining table.

We didn't have the funds to pay because I had lost so much of my income in the last year... But as fast as I could, I thought maybe my dear father would help bridge us.  Even though he is not wealthy, he was moved with compassion for Caesar and our family and let us put the money on his credit card....it was thousands of dollars... and only temporarily, as we have to pay this back.

Against The Odds... Caesar Rescued from Death
But with the help my father provided by standing in the gap for us and our buddy...Caesar was rescued from the edge of death, as the Hospital ER team went into action.  Fully committed to do whatever it would take to save Caesar, they were able to stabilize him from the critical condition he was in which gave him the chance he needed...that, along with some prayer from friends on behalf of our critically sick "household member."

But We're Now At Another Critical Crossroads & Need Your Help
Now, we are in a dilemma. On the one hand Caesar's vital signs (cardio, etc.) over the last three days have come back to just about normal from emergency treatments we paid the Animal Hospital to do.  But he still is in need of care. His mobility is still not strong in terms of standing and walking like before and he will need neurological healing and therapy. Unfortunately, our ability to pay any more is now over...totally exhausted.

We want to give Caesar every chance to regain his strength and health and live out his full days (Anatolian Shepherds are a rugged breed and can live up to 16+ years which would give Caesar many more years of life.)  And with rehabilitation, he can thrive.

Caesar Can Also Become a "Lead Dog" & Set a Precedent for Innovative Therapy ...If He Can, With Your Help, Just Continue to Heal At The Hospital and Go Into Rehab
Caesar, once he regains his strength at the Hospital and gets into doggie Rehab, can become the "lead dog" for a special procedure to help with hip dysplasia.  My personal physician is one of the few MD's certified in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell therapy (for people). He has helped dozens of folks with Stem Cell therapy for repair of knees and joints and other conditions. Today, he told me he would be willing, at no charge, to work with our Vet to give Caesar special treatment with Stem Cells derived from Caesar's own body. (That makes it very safe.)  This would be breakthrough not only for him with his own hip condition ...but could set a precedent for other dogs with similar ailments. While the Animal Hospital is aware of the research that's been done with Stem Cells and dogs, they do not perform such procedures. So this would be a practical, clinical precedent...a breakthrough in our community.

With Your Help Caesar Can Be Healed and Get the Special Treatment He Needs to Thrive
We just need to give Caesar the time to heal. But, to be able to keep Caesar in the Animal Hospital for the balance of his recovery and into basic doggie  rehabilitation ...we need your help. It is all possible if you and other dog lovers will stand with us. Please help with even a few dollars to save our big boy Caesar.    If you give, I will commit to tell you how he is getting on in the coming days. Thank you for caring.
