Hi, my name is Carmen, and I’m asking for help for my dog, Bulleit—named after my favorite bourbon and, honestly, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Bulleit is just 11 months old. He lives on our farm with me, my Meema and Papa, and his best friend Goku, our yellow lab. He was bred to be a working dog, but as a puppy he didn’t fully meet the strict standards required for that career. I’m grateful that the company I work for does not euthanize dogs who don’t make the cut. Instead, they work hard to find them safe, loving homes. That’s how Bulleit came into my life—I stepped in and adopted him, determined to give him the chance to just be a dog.
Bulleit loves sprinting across the farm, chasing balls, and launching himself into the horses’ water trough like it’s his personal swimming pool. He’s the sweetest cuddler you’ll ever meet, loves everyone, and greets each day with pure joy. Recently, the unthinkable happened. Bulleit was hit by a car. He survived—but he suffered severe injuries, breaking both his tibia and femur. Bulleit was born with bad hips and amputation can lead to further issues. Veterinarians have told us his only real chance is a major orthopedic surgery requiring a metal rod.
I would do anything for this dog. Unfortunately, this kind of emergency is overwhelming, and I can’t do it alone. I’m humbly asking for help to give Bulleit the surgery he needs and the life he deserves. Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward his surgery and recovery. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this means more than you know. Bulleit was given a second chance as a puppy when he was placed in a loving home instead of being written off. I’m hoping, with your help, we can give him another chance now—and make sure this good boy gets the Merry Christmas he deserves. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.
