In memory of Buddy.

Update on buddy: it’s with great sadness, that I regret to inform everyone that Buddy has crossed the rainbow bridge. We tried surgery to give him a chance to heal and despite our efforts, the wound and infection was too big for his tiny, fragile body to take on. He was a fighter, he never complained or cried or showed signs of pain he was resilient and just wanted to explore and be loved on. His wound unfortunately opened up to a level that was not manageable without many surgeries and pain and we did not want him suffering. I want to thank each and every one of you who donated to Buddy, your donations awarded me to at least be able to get him surgery and give him a chance at recovery and while we gave it our all sometimes the universe has other plans. I will miss him dearly
Buddy has had a very huge open wound from his neck to his shoulder. I took him to the vet, they said it was from a dog or cat bite which was left untreated for a while an abscess was building up, it exploded and teared off a big chunk of his skin, leaving him with a terrible infection. Buddy is vastly underweight for his age he's not even half of what he's supposed to be. He had very low blood cells and is having a hard time building blood cells. He's in recover right now in a very fragile state, his stiches can open up easily. Please contact if you have any question.
Back story:
I just got him from a Facebook group a little less than a week ago. I think it was fate as I really needed a companion in my new apartment to show love and bond with, and he really needed a new home since the last owner didn't have the time or attention for Buddy.
The girl who sold him to me didn't have any info on him or his well-being. She mentioned that the family he was living with wasn't the best home for him because he wasn't getting any attention, she stated that nobody wanted him there, . I instantly knew this kitty needed a new home even in his picture he looked unwell and very skinny, never would i have thought he was in critical conditions since i just got him, leaving me with an aching heart, worried every day for my cats well being.
I brought this sweet boy into my home with open arms. We have been doing great; he barely started to warm up and loves his new home. I took him a bath and it was overall the worst experience I've had to witness, unexpectedly he passed out in the shower in pain due to the injury he endured when the abscess popped, i noticed after the fact that half of his skin was hanging off his shoulder. I instantly contacted the lady who gave him to me right away to ask what it could possibly be, but I got no answers besides she never saw it. I've never experienced anything like this and would appreciate all the support I can get from the community.
