Help save Bucky (formerly Nathan Diaz)
Donation protected
Hello, my name is James. My family and I have rescued over 20 dogs from the shelters in the last few years, and I currently have 5 myself.
Last week we brought home 3 new babies from the Lancaster shelter. Formerly known as Buddy, Nathan Diaz, and Norma.
Buddy immediately required a $1400 surgery for a large mass on his neck, and Nathan (now Bucky) has tested positive for Parvo.
Bucky is sweet, energetic, and great with the other dogs. Just a little lover. It all happened very abruptly. He was fine in the morning and I came home after work to find that he had thrown up. Didn’t think too much of it as he was still high energy and getting used to his new diet and routine. Then the diarrhea started. We got him to the emergency vet on M on Saturday and he is still there showing very little improvement.
For the two days of emergency care we are maxed out at over $4k. On top of that we are facing the real threat that my four other dogs, as well as my mom’s six have now all been exposed, and although they are all vaccinated two have already started showing symptoms.
My pups range from 4 months, up to 15 years. With obviously the puppy and the senior in the most danger after Bucky himself.
I have thrown away all of the living room furniture and bleached the entire house. I have gates all over the house to separate all the dogs and keep them monitored. Trying everything we can to keep them safe.
All of this is coming after losing my boy Hendricks to bone cancer two weeks ago with another $2300 bill.
With our money running out, we can no longer keep Bucky hospitalized and are going to be on our own for further treatments. Please keep him in your thoughts. Any little bit is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
