Help Save Brownie's Leg!

Tax deductible
The Northeast Ohio SPCA would like to introduce Brownie! Brownie is an eight month old male Hound Mix that arrived at the Pet Shelter in early October. Upon Brownie's arrival, the staff quickly noticed that he was limping and refraining from using his back left leg. We learned that Brownie had been hit by a car in early July and suffered severe pelvic and tibial fractures. His owners at the time did not seek immediate medical attention and later dumped him at the shelter. Our clinic performed a set of Xrays which showed significant arthritis and degenerative changes in Brownie's knee. It is likely that there was soft tissue injury and bone damage at the time of the car accident. Orthopedic specialists evaluated him and determined that an Arthrodesis would help us save Brownie's leg. This is a procedure where the knee joint would be fused together, ultimately stabilizing the knee and eliminating the pain. Brownie's surgery will be costly, $5,000 to be exact. We are turning to the community once again to raise these funds for Brownie. Despite all he's been through, Brownie is an extremely cheerful pup! He happily hobbles around on three legs, loves everyone he meets, and is always smiling. He deserves a chance to be pain-free; a chance to have a happy and healthy life filled with lots of walking, running, & playing - the NEO SPCA is determined to give him this. Please help us save Brownie's leg by sharing his story! He is comfortably residing in a foster home receiving lots of love and time to rest while we raise the funds for him. Thank you in advance to all that donate to Brownie's cause.
