Help Save Brownie, The Poor Mistreated Baby!

Sweet Brownie, a Pit Bull Mix, was found wandering the streets of Temple Hills, MD, where pit bulls are outlawed. Some animal loving volunteers came to her rescue and found she was nothing but skin and bones. Brownie was so starved that she ate FIVE cans of dog food her first meal there.

It appeared that Brownie had been used as a breeding machine and was exhausted, bleeding, and starving. Her rescuers found her a temporary home where she has food, water, a warm bed, shelter, toys, treatment for fleas and a large gash, and plenty of love.

We found that many shelters in the area were at their capacity for Pit Bulls, so Brownie was unable to get into a foster system and receive the care she needed. So her rescuers took matters into their own paws, have found an amazing foster, and have her booked for a full vet evaluation on 3/29.

Because Brownie has been so mistreated and neglected, she needs: spaying, vaccines, teeth evaluation (her front teeth have been filed down to nubs—probably from her trying to bite her way out of her cage),
blood work, fecal test, deworming, parasite preventatives, and possibly more. We pray that Brownie does not have heart worms; if she does, that would add significantly to the bill. While her rescuers have found a vet to discount her fees given Brownie’s situation, they cannot afford to meet the full cost (estimated as goal) on their own.

We ask for donations to help us save Brownie and give her the good life she deserves. We are not a non-profit or a rescue, but just animal lovers who won’t abandon a creature in need. We will share Brownie updates, a complete accounting of donations and expenses, and will donate any remaining funds to a worthy animal rescue to help other “Brownies.” You will ultimately be rewarded with seeing a happy, healthier girl who is so grateful for every bit of care and love that she receives.
