SAVING BROCK OLEE
Brock came into our lives as a 2 month old Belgian Malinois puppy my son had adopted. I fell in love with him instantly, not knowing at the time we would be called upon to save his life when he was hit by a car at 4 months old. Driving to the Vet, my son was hysterical, and Brock, in shock, reached his paw across the middle console of the car to make contact with me for comfort. From that moment on, our bond was forever.
My husband and I suffered a complete financial reversal as a result of the market collapse that began in 2008. During one of the most difficult financial challenges of my life, Brock gave me someone bigger than myself to worry about, nurture, and care for. I always say we saved each other’s life.
The wonderful surgeons fixed his broken body, and gave him the opportunity to live a full, active life.
He has always had a wonderful, loving spirit and tons of energy. He loves frisbee, playing catch and fetch, tug of war, and racing motorcycles and trucks from the safety of our property. But, nothing trumps the excitement he has for his morning and afternoon walks through the neighborhood.
At 9 years old, people remark all the time what a happy dog he is. We call him our 9 year old puppy.
Brock developed a walnut sized mass in his neck/throat area recently. We had the mass removed in November. He was diagnosed with a recurring low-level sarcoma. However, it grew back at a very fast rate. Given its location and size, it is now too large to safely remove surgically. The oncologist believes the prognosis is good that with radiation therapy they can shrink the tumor and curtail its future growth.
Sadly, we no longer have the financial resources to pay for the treatment.
With the medical treatment available to him, he is likely to live another 4 to 5 years.
We are making every effort to raise the money we need, but time is of the essence.
Brock is our lifeline. He is the smartest, most loyal, loving friend and companion anyone could ask for. We want to give us a few more good years together.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration. Any amount donated for his cancer treatment would be greatly appreciated. Please help us save this amazing family member.
