On Wednesday, April 1st, my beloved car was badly damaged when an automotive technician backed a truck into it as it was being serviced. The damage is severe enough that insurance will almost certainly total it, but it IS repairable. Additionally, it is a 25-year-old car; they are likely to offer me between $600-$1,000 at most, and only if I turn the car over to them.
Not only do I love my car and have no desire to replace it, I very much rely on it for work. I plan to take a much smaller salvage payout, and repair the car myself for a rebuilt title.
It will need a replacement hood and grille, a replacement radiator, and most likely a radiator fan + shroud, headlights (or at least new mounts), and a front bumper. I may need to paint the hood if I cannot find a painted one. It isn’t drivable with a damaged radiator, so I will have to have it towed to somewhere I can work on it. And I will have to find alternative transportation to work while I figure all of this out.
I am setting my initial goal at $2,000. I believe this is the lowest amount I could get away with to fix her up. If you can spare a little bit to help me, it would be sincerely appreciated; I’m already struggling to pay off medical debt along with my normal expenses. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, if you are able to donate or share this campaign. Be blessed.
