Help Save Brenda's Life: A Call for Support

Hi. This 'Help Save Brenda's Life' fundraiser is being run by Edward Whelan (Husband) and Irene Smith (Brenda's Mothers).

We are reaching out during one of the most challenging times of our family’s life. My beloved wife, Brenda, a dedicated mother and a compassionate soul, is currently battling cancer and needs our help.

Since 2008, we have called Dubai our home. We have built a life here, surrounded by a loving community, and have raised our wonderful 17-year-old son, Louie. Brenda has always been the heart of our family, passionately dedicating her life to helping children with learning difficulties and those facing various challenges. Her selflessness and kindness have touched many lives, and now she needs our support.

Brenda's journey with cancer began in 2017, and after several battles, including being one of the first in Dubai to receive a full allogeneic stem cell transplant, she was doing well. However, she faced a relapse in 2024. Tragically, her health has declined sharply this week, and she has now been placed in a coma to recover from a life-threatening infection. We are heartbroken and desperate to provide her with the best care possible.

Currently, Brenda's company health insurance has reached its limit, and we are facing an overwhelming financial burden. We need to arrange for her to be flown to Perth, Australia, for ongoing treatment. This life-saving transport and necessary medical care are beyond our means, threatening to deplete our life savings and home in the pursuit of her health.

We are humbly asking for your support during this most crucial time. Every contribution, no matter how small, will significantly impact our ability to get Brenda the treatment she urgently needs.
