Thursday night, my world stopped. I got a call from the barn owner telling me to call the vet immediately, Blue was colicking. I don’t think I’ve ever driven so fast or felt so terrified. It was after hours, and by the time I reached the barn an hour later, the on-call vet had just arrived. After examining him, she looked at me and said Blue needed to be rushed to OVC immediately. He was suffering from an impaction colic, and there was no time to wait.

We loaded Blue onto the trailer and sent him straight to OVC. Since Thursday night, he has been there fighting for his life while an incredible veterinary team does everything they can to save him and bring him home.

Blue is not just a pony. He is my heart. For many years, he has been my constant, my comfort, and my family. He has carried children, taught lessons, healed hearts, and brought joy to more people than I can ever count. So many lives have been shaped by him, and the thought of losing him is unbearable.

Right now, all I want is to give Blue every possible chance. The cost of his care continues to rise, and while I would do anything for him, the financial weight is overwhelming. Asking for help is incredibly hard, but I can’t do this alone.
