Help save Bibi Hanum women artisans from pandemic
Donation protected

We have been directly affected by COVID 19 as our work was connected to international trade and tourism. Ikat production has stopped and our weavers lost their jobs due to the pandemic. In our workshop we have ten women at the moment. We are also about to shut our business as we have not been able to source our products internationally. The income that we were gaining as a result of tour groups has long been stopped as no tourist is able to visit us any more. Our building has been sold to a private business owner, and we are losing our workplace. The income that our women receive from our work is the only source of funding to feed their families.
This project will help restore the losses caused with the pandemic and help maintain our work for the coming years and carry out the projects that we initially planned. This project will also develop a new solution for the women to adapt to working remotely using new technologies in case of complete lockdown. We will develop new product lines with the economic customers in mind to start sales in our website.
We really appreciate your support. We don't usually ask for donations, but this is the time when we have no other choice. Thank you!
