Belltown Bakery was never part of a business plan. It came into my life at exactly the right time—and then something extraordinary happened: the community showed up. What started as a small bakery has grown into something much bigger than bread and baked goods. It’s become a place where people gather, reconnect, and feel at home downtown again. I’m deeply grateful for every person who’s walked through the door, shared a conversation, or made this bakery part of their routine. Today, I’m asking for your help to protect what we’ve built together.
My landlord has generously offered me the first opportunity to purchase the building that houses Belltown Bakery. This is a rare and time-sensitive chance. Without ownership, there is a real risk that a new landlord could raise the rent beyond what a community bakery can sustain—or choose not to renew the lease at all. That uncertainty puts everything we’ve built at risk.
Belltown Bakery exists to serve its community, not maximize profit. My prices are intentionally family-friendly. Everything is made from scratch, using clean, simple ingredients. Over and over, customers have told me they hadn’t been able to eat bread for years—until they ate mine and felt good again. That matters to me deeply.
I’ve also been told this bakery has helped revitalize our downtown—encouraging other businesses and neighbors to believe in the area again. That responsibility means everything to me. This fundraiser isn’t just about buying a building. It’s about securing a permanent home for a bakery that belongs to its community. This journey has never been mine alone. Most of you have grown alongside me from the very beginning, offering support, encouragement, and belief when I needed it most. If you’re able to contribute—at any level—you’re helping ensure that Belltown Bakery can continue to nourish, connect, and serve this community for years to come. Thank you for believing in this place, in small local businesses, and in the power of community. With heartfelt gratitude, Jackie
