Help Raise Money To Help Beach Dog!

Donation protected
Hello,
A few clients have come together to create a GoFundMe to help Beach Dog with the expenses they have accrued and keep accruing due to the 2-year battle with the city of Delray Beach. Opening a new business during the peak of COVID was hard enough to say the least for owner Jennifer Roselli. However, they have survived, and Jen has created a beautiful business. Beach Dog offers a fun and SAFE place for our fur babies. Due to the fact the city of Delray Beach changed its zoning regulations Beach Dog is in violation with the city. However, there are two other local businesses that offer the same exact services that Beach Dog does, respectively 2 miles north and west that are classified with the same zoning; Barkingham Palace & Pet Smart. They are not being hit with violations from the city or animal control like Beach Dog is consistently. Her attorney has been told that they have been “grandfathered” in, but the city does not have any documentation of that. After a long extensive process and hearing from the community to support pet hotels the city did recently change the ordinance to allow pet hotels in the GC zoning district as a conditional use. The conditional use process is very extensive and expensive.

Beach Dog has not only cleaned up the immediate area from local drug users that lived behind the property; but has also employed a staff of 10. Within 2 years, during the pandemic and economic downturn, Beach Dog has become a staple in Delray. They foster for local rescue groups and are signed up to board dogs for military people who are deployed at no cost. Giving back to the community is deeply rooted in Jennifer Roselli. They are also considered essential as many of their clients are doctors, nurses and EMTs. During COVID, clients needed a safe place for their dogs while they were working tirelessly to save people’s lives. Beach Dog was highlighted in the Palm Beach Post because Jen took in a dog for over a month, at no charge, while one of her clients, Glenn Kaufman, fought for his life on a ventilator due to COVID. There was no place for his dog to go and Beach Dog willingly stepped up.

Delray is a growing community, and a growing community for our four-legged friends that need a safe place to go. The city of Delray Beach and animal control has hit her with violation after violation. She is still being hit with violation after violation even with the recent ordinance change until the conditional use has been approved. The mounting attorney’s fees, improvements made to BD making the West wall and doors soundproof, having to hire a zoning specialist and architect to take on the conditional use process and the fines Beach Dog is being hit with is making it challenging for any business to survive. The city of Delray Beach is threatening $30,000 in fines a month until she gets approved for the conditional use which can take 4-6 months. This is detrimental to any small business. The proposed improvements Beach Dog will have to do to get approved for the conditional use is extensive and expensive. The entire building needs to be sound proofed on top of what she has already done. I am asking for the help of the clients and community to help raise money for the expenses she has already incurred and continues to incur while trying to rectify the zoning situation with the city. So far, she has incurred 50k in expenses. Let’s ban together to help Beach Dog. Where else will we bring our loved pups with someone that we trust so much!
