Help Save Batoul – Urgent Medical Equipment Required in Gaza

We all ask ourselves what can we do help Gaza, here’s your chance; my name’s Adam from Austin, TX (USA), and I’m reaching out with an urgent appeal to help Batoul Al-Masharrawi, an 18-year-old girl in Gaza who is fighting for her life.

I came to know about her through a video shared by Anas Al-Sharif, a respected journalist reporting from Gaza on Al Jazeera. In the video, her mother shares the heartbreaking story of how Batoul was struck in the head by shrapnel during a recent bombing. She’s been in a coma for several weeks now, and her condition remains critical.

Batoul needs to be evacuated for advanced medical care, but her immediate survival depends on being connected to critical medical equipment that can relieve pressure on her brain or deliver life-saving medication; either an External Ventricular Drain (EVD) or an Intravenous (IV) system. The cost for the necessary device is $1,500. Without it, her chances of survival drop significantly.

The funds raised will be sent directly to her mother, who has been doing everything she can, but with resources in Gaza severely limited, she’s reached out for help.

Though I don’t know the family personally, I was deeply moved by their story and couldn’t stand by and do nothing. I’m launching this campaign to raise the amount needed for the equipment. Every dollar raised will go directly to her mother to secure the device as quickly as possible.

مرحبًا، اسمي آدم ماهر من أوستن، تكساس (الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية)، وأتوجه إليكم بنداء عاجل للمساعدة في إنقاذ فتاة تُدعى بتول المشهراوي، تبلغ من العمر 18 عامًا من غزة، وهي تقاتل من أجل حياتها.

عرفت قصتها من خلال فيديو شاركه الصحفي المحترم أنس الشريف، الذي ينقل الأحداث من غزة عبر قناة الجزيرة. في الفيديو، تروي والدتها القصة المفجعة لكيفية إصابة بتول بشظية في رأسها خلال قصف حديث. ومنذ ذلك الحين، دخلت في غيبوبة لعدة أسابيع، ولا تزال حالتها حرجة للغاية.

بتول بحاجة ماسة إلى الإخلاء لتلقي علاج طبي متقدم، لكن بقاءها على قيد الحياة الآن يعتمد على ربطها بجهاز طبي ضروري يُخفف الضغط عن دماغها أو يُزودها بالأدوية المنقذة للحياة، مثل أنبوب تصريف البطينات الدماغية (EVD) أو العلاج الوريدي (IV). تكلفة هذا الجهاز الحيوي تبلغ 1500 دولار، وبدونه، تنخفض فرص نجاتها بشكل كبير.

سيتم إرسال التبرعات مباشرة إلى والدتها، التي تبذل كل ما في وسعها، لكن مع ندرة الموارد في غزة، اضطرت إلى طلب المساعدة.

ورغم أنني لا أعرف العائلة بشكل شخصي، إلا أن قصتهم أثرت فيّ بعمق ولم أستطع الوقوف مكتوف اليدين. لهذا السبب، أطلقت هذه الحملة لجمع المبلغ المطلوب لشراء الجهاز. كل دولار يتم التبرع به سيُرسل مباشرة إلى والدتها لتأمين الجهاز بأسرع وقت ممكن.

من فضلك تبرّع إن استطعت، فحتى المبالغ الصغيرة تصنع فرقًا. وإن لم تتمكن من التبرع، فإن مشاركة هذه الحملة قد تساهم في إنقاذ حياة.
