HELP SAVE Barigye's Cancer & TB Hospital Fund

Do not let his dream die! Barigye Henry is a wonderful young man with a dream to be a doctor, who now has a need to go to the doctor…can you help Barigye be healed of HODGKINS LYMPHOMA? In Uganda, it is difficult to get medical care due to a lack of monetary resources and the inability to get aid from any humanitarian organizations. So we're on a mission to get the funds to provide for the chemotherapy & radiation he is requiring to cure his illness. We have already been paying for his treatment which has had a number of complications, including Tuberculosis, Anemia, and an issue with his liver. We want to make sure we raise enough funds to cover the amount already paid for his ongoing treatment and any additional issues that arise. Any funds raised over the medical costs can then go towards helping him return to college. Our journey with Barigye began with us falling in love with this little 8-year-old boy in need of sponsorship through the organization Compassion International. Our sponsorship set him on a course out of poverty and a path of success and fulfilling his dream to become a doctor.  But when Barigye aged out and had not finished his degree we stepped in to make sure he stayed on his career path and not go back into extreme poverty.

At the beginning of 2020, he began experiencing some symptoms and we paid to have him have all the tests needed to see what was going, and it turns out he did not have COVID but he has Tuberculosis and then he started developing lumps in his neck and so we paid for the surgery, but the government hospital lost the specimen and so we didn’t know what it was. And then 3 months later, more lumps appeared, so we paid to have him go to a private hospital hoping to get a better result with surgery and testing.  And then the results came that he had HODGKINS LYMPHOMA and it was spreading… so he needed to begin chemo as soon as possible. They removed a mass and they said there were so many that they could not remove them all and they more were going on the other side of his neck.  Now we are faced with the mounting cost of treatment and in Uganda, you must pay before you get the treatment (or immediately after).  Barigye is poor and has no resources and no government aid so we are taking on the medical expenses, but our resources are limited too. So, we are reaching out to find help from caring people who would like to part of his journey in getting his cancer care completed keeping him alive, and get him back to his destiny to become a doctor. I would like to add this young man is a very loving kind human being who loves the Lord and serves at his church as the worship leader. He also mentors and tutors’ children back at the Compassion site that he grew up at. He is an example of faith under fire and always has a smile on his face as he is trusting God for complete healing. The verse that best describes Barigye is Psalm 66:17 For I cried out to Him for help, praising Him as I spoke.
