During search and rescue efforts in Banner Elk, North Carolina, a few of the guys came across a four-month-old dog (Banner) that was buried up to her neck in mud. They rescued Banner and got her medical treatment. CSM (R) Alex Nelson is one of the many veterans leading the recovery effort, and he decided to give Banner a forever home. Unfortunately, we were informed today that to save Banner's life, she would have to have one of her legs amputated. Like any medical procedure, this comes with a cost, so we are trying to raise the funds to cover the cost. Currently, our team members have covered the portion of the cost that we can, but we still need some help. Banner had surgery today and it was successful, but the healing process and future medical needs are going to pile up fast. We came into this mission with the mindset of "We Will Leave No One Behind"—this includes Banner! Please help us save Banner so we can give her the life that she deserves. Any funds left over will be donated to other animals affected by the hurricane.
