My name is Shaylee Austin and I am located in Kelowna, BC Canada. I work for an amazing company and I am raising money to help Kristine, my employee and friend, and her family. Matteo was born 2 months early in the Philippines and there were no available public NICU beds. He required a great amount of care to survive and the only way was at a private hospital which was extremely expensive.

We originally raised $7,750 for Matteo's bills but unfortunately, he has since passed away. His final hospital bill was around $9000 CAD and they have no money to pay for a memorial. Please consider sharing this with your friends and family so we can help Kris and her husband properly lay him to rest.

The original money went towards his initial private hospital costs (they require a downpayment to even accept him to the NICU) and his on-going care as we don't know how long he will need to stay and receive care. In full transparency, I will be accepting the money and transferring it to Kristine through PayPal as it can take weeks for a money transfer to a Philippines bank account.  The rest will go towards the outstanding bills and funeral costs.
