Help Baby Dwayne Fight a Terminal Rare Disease

Hi, my name is Daisy, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My godson, Baby Dwayne, is just 7 months old and already fighting a life most of us couldn’t imagine — diagnosed with an extremely rare and life-threatening AIFM1-related mitochondrial disorder. His is one of the first confirmed cases in the Philippines and even in other countries.

Dwayne is currently in the Pediatric ICU, reliant on a ventilator to breathe. He’s scheduled for a tracheostomy — a surgery that could mean the difference between life and loss. Through all of this, Dwayne still manages to smile. His strength is extraordinary.

His mother has already endured the unimaginable — the loss of a child. Dwayne is her only surviving baby. Every second matters. Every breath he takes is a battle. And yet, he continues to hold on.
