Hello Folks,
This is komal in USA on the behalf of my nephew Arnav Chand in Fiji.
Arnav is a 4yrs old little boy who resides in Fiji.
He was born as a healthy little baby but later started to develop some health issues, he would complain of having pain in his stomach but too young to describe the pain.
Eventually he was seen by doctors in CWM hospital in Suva who told the family that he had a hernia in his stomach.
They operated on him to fix the problem but his situation started to go downhill. The incision area started to get infected and started draining fluid out of it.
The skin around his stomach started to form blister like lumps.
He underwent 2 more surgeries to correct the problem but both surgeries were unsuccessful.
Every so often doctors from India visit Fiji to help out doctors with patients with severe problems that the doctors in Fiji can not resolve.
Fortunately my nephew was one of the patients that was seen by these doctors.
They diagnosed him as originally having umbilical hernia, which due to improper treatment has turned in to a tumour which has accumulated a lot of fluids and keeps rupturing.
When it ruptures the fluids leak out through the incision area causing a lot of sores on the skin of his stomach which is very painful.
Finally, through the recommendations of one of the doctors from India he is one of the candidates to go to India for treatment. In order to be able to go the family has to raise US$9,000.00 with in the next 10-15 days.
He is scheduled to fly out on August 4th if everything works out.
The family will sincerely appreciate any help that they can get for the treatment so their child is free from his suffering.
