Help Save Baby Adjoa: Fund Her LifeSaving Open Heart Surgery

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Supporters,

I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt and urgent plea for help. My dear family friend's daughter, Adjoa / Adwoa (on health documents), is a precious baby in Ghana who has been diagnosed with a severe heart defect known as a trisomy heart defect. She needs an urgent open-heart surgery that can only be performed in India.

Adjoa is just over 2 months old, and despite her young age, she has faced unimaginable challenges. She was born with multiple heart defects, including Transposition of the Great Arteries, a moderate-sized ventricular septal defect (VSD), and a small atrial septal defect (ASD) which can also be classified as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Her oxygen levels are critically low at 88%, and her condition requires immediate medical intervention to save her life.

The doctors in Ghana have done everything they can, but Adjoa's best hope lies in undergoing an arterial switch operation and VSD closure at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, India. The cost of the procedure, including pre-operative investigations, surgery, post-operative care, travel and accommodation is approximately $20,000. Adjoa's family have already managed to raise $5,000, but they still need $15,000 to cover the remaining expenses.

As Adjoa's family friend, I have witnessed the immense love and dedication her parents have for her. Despite their limited resources, they have done everything in their power to ensure she gets the medical attention she needs. Now, they need our help to give Adjoa a fighting chance at a healthy and happy life.

Adjoa's mother, Sledge but we like to call her Angie, is a devoted parent who has never asked for handouts, but the situation is dire, and we are appealing to the kindness and generosity of people like you. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in saving Adjoa's life and giving her a chance to grow up healthy and strong.
