I rescued Axe from the SPCA in Vancouver when he was just a tiny little puppy. From that day on, he has been my everything. my best friend, my protector, my reason to smile on the hardest days. We’ve grown together. He’s been there for every heartbreak, every adventure, every quiet night when all I needed was a cuddle.
Now, I’m faced with the possibility of losing him way too soon.
Axe has a tumour in his leg, and the only way to save his life is to amputate it before the cancer spreads. The surgery is booked for Monday, August 18th. It will cost $7,000.
This sweet boy has already been through so much. He’s endured two major knee surgeries in his life, and each time, he came through with a wagging tail and the same gentle heart. Now, a tumour has grown under the metal plate from his last surgery. There’s no other option.
Axe doesn’t know he’s so sick, even though he is in a terrible amount of pain and can’t walk on the leg, he still greets me with his toy, still curls up next to me like he always has.
I’m asking for help — from friends, from strangers, from anyone whose heart has been touched by a dog. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward saving Axe’s life and giving us more time together. Even sharing his story could help reach someone who can make a difference.
Please, help me save my boy. I’m not ready to say goodbye.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
