Urgent. Help Save Autistic Daughter from Eviction

Donation protected
For all you beautiful generous past donors, the latest update is below this back story. The $6000 that was raised in this Go fund Me from 2022 to now from your generous donations has kept Julie in her current apartment until now. She is in urgent need again of financial aid. Thank you so much!!

Those new to our fundraiser this is the update on the backstory. Thank you for your interest in Julie's housing crisis.

Julie Moss is my daughter and is threatened to be evicted from her apartment. I've been helping her find an affordable low income apartment in Cincinnati.

Since she is a high functioning Autistic adult it's a great challenge for her to do any kind of normal business activities. Add to that she had Covid and now ongong Long Covid with constant Chronic Fatigue.. She is constantly in debilitating physical pain making it extremely difficult for her to function much less look for apartments on a regular basis. She is doing much better and it has gotten to the point now where she is behind in her rent again and being threatened with the eviction.

Julie needs your immediate help.

There is a huge housing shortage for low income housing. Julie has a new voucher and yet the apartments for vouchers are extremely limited. So she has been stuck in an expensive apartment that she can't afford. She has to have $3368 by June 22 or the landlord will start the eviction process.

This would be a disaster for a person in her condition.

This is happening because:
  • Julie hasn’t found an affordable apartment yet.
  • She finally has her housing voucher for the fourth time. It ran out because she hasn't found an apartment.
  • The building she wanted to live in had another city code violation that hadn't been removed from the books. And their management can't find the old documents.

We are now applying to buildings with waiting lists for her..

The good news
She is still working with the Ohio HUD representative for housing and Senator Sherrod Brown's office. She is just starting to work with several agencies that will help her with her living skills.

She is getting Medicaid. That got slowed down for some technicality and Julie's illnesses slowing her down.

Yet, the landlord needs the monthly rent paid. Julie pays part of the monthly rent out of her disability income although that's not enough for this apartment.

Hopefully, this gives you an idea of why Julie once again needs your support.

Then, of course, she has July to pay. We pray that this housing problem will be solved by then.

The stress of all this, as you can imagine, is only wearing her down and making her existing mental and physical problems even worse.

If you can possibly help out with whatever you can give it would be greatly greatly appreciated.

With deep Gratitude,
Sylvia for Julie Moss
