Help Save Astrid from Leptospirosis
Today I have received news that has left me broken, confused and at a loss of words. I am at a point that I don't know what to do and could really use any help you may be able to share with me.
As you may know my dogs are my everything to me and I will do anything possible to save them. Today I received news I did not want to hear. Astrid who has only been with me for 5 years has been suffering a terrible UTI for two months now which has costed me $3000 already in vet bills. Well the UTI has cured up but we are now being faced with a more serious issue. She has very high elevated kidney issues as well as liver problems going on that is to believe to be Leptospirosis. In order to cure Lepto she is needing to be hospitalized to go on fluids, testing and motoring for a few days. I have talked to Blue Pearl today and they said this could cost anywhere from $5000-$7000. This is not something I have by any means and I don't know what to do. She is my baby and its killing me to see my silly crazy girl go from being the best dog ever to not being able to eat, can barley move and puking many times daily. I just want to save my girl. It is to soon for her to leave us.
I am in a situation that Astrid isn't the only one being affected by Lepto. This can affects Max (my other dog) as well as me and my husband health wise which is why this is so important to me to be able to cure her before it hits all of us and we have a even more serious situation happen.
Please don't give me hate and say its just a dog and that I'm dumb for doing this. Those that know me know I will do anything for my pets as they are like my children as I do not have kids. Astrid is my first dog of my own that I rescued when she was two years old. Saving her from suffering in the shelter she was at and gave her the best life she could be living.
