Help Save Argentinian Pizza shop from Arson attack

We are Don Fernandos, an Argentinian pizza and churro shop located in the quiet neighbourhood of noble park north, Melbourne VIC, Australia.

On the 19th of July 2024, we found that our beautiful shop fell victim to an arson attack. We awoke early that morning in our home to find that our shop nearby was on fire. We rushed to the scene in horror of what stood before use. We tried to withhold our grief and rushed inside the building to try and minimise the damage before Fire Fighters were able to arrive on the scene.

Due to our financial struggle to stay afloat as a small business, we are without insurance and must now face the task of rebuilding our cherished shop. We cannot do this without the help of others from the community. All the proceeds from those who donate will go straight into rebuilding, and replacing all the hard work our family had put in to making the shop a beautiful place to be.

This is not the first time we had faced adversity, for Don Fernandos primarily intended to use the building to make churros for a food truck. But after 2 years the business we were cooperating with had shut down due to the 2020 pandemic, leaving us with a shop and no work.

We pushed through and decided that after being in Noble Park for around 40 years, we wanted to do something more than churros. We wanted to make Don Fernandos a place for the community to eat good food in a nice shop. With little money, Don Fernando did most of the work with his two sons renovating the building to be a pizza shop. And after 4 years of additional work we opened our doors with nothing but the hope that we were able to create something for the community.

And after a year of being open, we believe we had learned what it took to make good food for everyone in the community, and came across many wonderful people who help us on our journey by buying our food.
