I am making this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Sheryl. She is in desperate need of financial aid for her beloved cat Arat.

Arat was born on April 7th, 2018. My mom had been working for a few years trying to stop the growing stray cat population in her neighborhood by working with Pet Helpers to TNR (Trap, Neuter/Spay, Release) stray cats, and get cats/kittens adopted and off the streets to prevent future generations of strays.

She had taken in two pregnant stray females Carol, and Beauty. Between them they had 9 babies. It is believed that one of the stray males she named Mr. Moostache was Arat's father. My mom liked naming the kitties after characters from The Walking Dead, and she gave one of the adorable male kittens the name Arat. When it was time for them to go to Pet Helpers for adoption my mom's heart broke saying goodbye to Arat.

The next morning she called them to ask if she could have him back, because she had bonded with him so deeply. They said yes, and she has had him ever since. Not very long ago my mom suffered the sudden death of one of her cats, Maggie, and one of her foster cats she was rehabilitating. The loss was painful, and it has left a mark on her that she is still trying to come to terms with. Maggie had been her cat since 2014 when she rescued her from a local shelter.

Maggie was there to help with every foster cat, and helped raise each of the kittens to get them ready for adoption. She was a kind, gentle, and loving cat. The bond my mom held with Maggie is just as deep as the one she holds with Arat. To lose another member of her furry family so soon would devastate her.

So she needs some help. About a week ago she was petting Arat when she noticed a mass under his left eye. She became worried, and has been saving to try to get him to the vet as soon as possible. On December 15th she woke to find the mass under his eye had ruptured. The need to get him to the vet is beyond urgent at this point.

She has the money for the exam, but needs help covering any other costs she might incur for his care. She knows that she may end up having to do the hard thing, and help him pass peacefully. She just wants to be prepared for all options. If he can be saved she wants to save him. So she needs help. Please, share this fundraiser everywhere you can. PS I went with the suggested amount GoFundMe gave. I will update as new information comes in after the exam is done by the vet, and we have an idea of what it may costs to help him.
