Hello Everyone
My name is Karen and I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea for your support. Since May 2020 I have seen my husband fight two cancers, but in May 2023 I lost him to lung cancer at the age of 58. Since then, I have been navigating the storm of grief clinging to the one constant that brings me solace, Annie, my beloved dog.
Let me share Annie's story with you—a shining light during my darkest days. Annie isn't just any dog; she's a survivor. Rescued from neglect and confinement at a young age, her hind legs weakened, and her spirit subdued, she initially feared everything and everyone. However, through love and care, she transformed into a beacon of joy and great companionship
In December Annie fell ill and was diagnosed with lymphoma; I was devastated, so soon after losing my husband, it was so hard to bear. Yet, I was given hope in the form of chemotherapy treatment. After 5 sessions Annie is responding well to the treatment. In herself she is good, still ravenous, running around chasing balls, the only side effect she has is loss of fur. It's nearly all gone from around her pretty face but she is still my Annie.
Although Annie is insured, the coverage of £7000 has already been exhausted. This is where I need your help. Annie's treatments are staggering - each chemotherapy session ranges from £500-£550, not including blood tests and other necessary examinations in between. To continue Annie’s treatment, I need to raise £6,050.
I have created this GoFundMe page to ensure Annie can continue her treatment. From the bottom of my heart, I humbly ask that you share this link with friends and family. If possible, any contribution, no matter how small will make a world of difference to Annie and me. I know times are tough but even a £1 or £2 donation is a valuable contribution towards ensuring Annie receives the care she needs to continue her fight against this awful disease. Losing my husband dramatically changed my life, and losing Annie so soon after my husband would be an unbearable loss.
Should there be any funds remaining, I plan to share them with two charities close to my heart, PDSA, which is the UK’s leading pet charity providing free and low cost treatment to pets in need, and Dogs On the Streets spreading hope to more furry friends in need.
Thank you sincerely for your kindness, compassion, and support. Your contributions will help secure a bright and joyful future for Annie and me whilst there is still so much more life left in her.
With much love
