My heart is breaking as I write this. Just a few weeks ago, we surprised my now 9-year-old son with a beautiful puppy for his birthday. Her name is Anne, and from the moment they met, they’ve been inseparable.
Anne has quickly become part of our little family. She follows him around the house and outside, and brings him so much joy, laughter, and comfort. Watching them grow their bond has been nothing short of magical.
But now, Anne is in trouble.
She suddenly became very sick—vomiting, refusing food, acting lethargic—and the vet believes she may have a blockage in her stomach or intestines. This kind of emergency can turn fatal without urgent care, and she needs imaging and most likely surgery.
The cost of care is overwhelming, especially with how sudden this has all happened. We’re doing everything we can to get her the help she needs, but we’re falling very short financially—and we’re terrified of losing her.
My son keeps asking if Anne is going to be okay. He doesn’t understand how something so scary could happen to his puppy, his best friend. I can’t bear the thought of telling him we couldn’t afford to save her.
We’re starting with a goal of $300, which will cover the cost of her imaging and diagnostics. As we get more information and know what’s ahead—especially if surgery is needed—we’ll update the fundraiser to include those costs.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to our family. Every dollar will go directly toward Anne’s medical care. And if you can’t donate, please share this—it helps more than you know.
Thank you for reading, and for holding Anne and my son in your heart.
With love and hope,
Erica
