HENDERSON TX: ANGELINA AND FAMILY EVADE GRIM REAPER

Teeny, Tiny, Medium, and Large (I'll be in trouble for those names :) ) came in with their step-mom, Angelina, on Friday afternoon.

Angelina is a gentle, vocal, and beautiful peaches & cream mama who has two different color eyes (Heterochromia) and she is a bobtail. She is such a unique cat. :)

She had birthed babies who were all stillborn and ended up in the Carthage, Texas kill shelter. While there, she took in 4 newborns and a slightly older orphan who all would have also died without her.

She and her little, cobbled-together family had previously been pulled from the kill shelter by a caring rescue foster, but due to unfortunate circumstances, had to be returned.

Angelina and her 4 step-children were then scheduled to be euthanized on Friday 06/20/2025.

It would be their last day alive.

Jan Boothe, Sophie's Catio Rescue, and I just could not let that happen, so she tagged them and her team launched their fundraising efforts to pay for their care while her husband went to the shelter on Friday and yanked them from the jaws of death just before they were killed.

Because she already had 30 under care, I had agreed to host this little family at the Duncan Home For Wayward Cats. Her husband brought them straight from the shelter and they got settled in last night.

This morning they were weighed and cleaned up a bit due to some poop mishaps during their journey to safety. :)

Now, we pray for their growth and well-being.

And I am launching my relentless panhandling to acquire the funds that will be needed for their care and to prepare them for adoption.

Minimum costs with ZERO vet visits will be five (5) times $207 each = $1035. As followers know, illnesses, medications, and vet visits can easily eclipse that amount in the blink of an eye.

Responsible pet care costs and irresponsible people are why Texas shelters and rescues are overflowing with homeless animals.
