Help Save Andy's – Your Local Gathering Place!

Welcome to the GoFundMe campaign for Andy's Neighborhood Canteen, a beloved community hub that has history in Webster going back over 60 years. My name is Bill Sabine, and along with the help of my wife, Jess, and some great friends, we opened Andy's two years ago. We need your support to ensure its future and keep it thriving as a place to for everyone, to gather, connect, and enjoy in our community. Here's a little history and overview of our situation.

Andy's Neighborhood Canteen has always been more than just a place to eat and drink; it's a "third space," a home away from home, where people come to connect, relax, and create lasting memories. Over the past two years, it has become the focal point of Webster for many, bringing people from all walks of life together.

We aspire to be that cozy gathering place, the go-to spot for friends and neighbors, where laughter is shared, stories are told, and friendships are forged. Our mission is to continue providing a warm and inviting atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

The history of Andy's is deeply intertwined with the stories of countless families in our community. Andy Stefanik (Jess’s great grandfather) opened the original Andy’s over 60 years ago on East Main Street. So when Jess and I were asked to take over the former bar at 9 Frederick Street, it made sense to continue the family tradition and pay homage to our ties to Webster. We've seen long time locals, and transplants alike frequent here, celebrate milestones, and find solace in good drinks, good people, and good times.

We've poured our hearts and resources into providing the best products, top-notch service, and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we've faced financial challenges and low sales, leaving us with a considerable debt.

While we're seeing signs of an upturn, the mountain of debt still looms large. We'll continue to operate for as long as we can, but the reality is that we may have to start winding down and plan for a responsible conclusion of Andy’s.

We've learned from our experiences and are implementing a new plan to revitalize Andy's Neighborhood Canteen. We're committed to getting back on our feet and serving our community better than ever.

The funds we’re raising will go to paying down the debts we’ve accrued, and make sure we have the resources to continue offering what you’ve come to love about Andy’s. Our hope is that in the coming years we will become self sustaining and even be able to make investments in the business to offer more to you and the community!
