Mi nombre es Pedro Reina Gil. Junto con mi esposa Alicia Trujillo Castro y nuestros dos hijos, hemos dedicado nuestra vida a servir a las familias, acompañar a los necesitados y predicar el evangelio. Siempre lo hemos hecho con amor, entrega y sin esperar nada a cambio, confiando en que servir a otros es servir a Dios.

Hoy, con el corazón en la mano, me veo en la dolorosa necesidad de pedir ayuda por la mujer más valiosa de mi vida: mi esposa Alicia, de 53 años.

El pasado martes 14 de octubre, Alicia sufrió una hemorragia cerebral con un coágulo de sangre. Todo ocurrió de manera repentina. Fue llevada de urgencia al hospital y operada inmediatamente para salvar su vida. Actualmente se encuentra en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, en estado delicado, bajo vigilancia constante.

Esta emergencia ocurrió en Colombia, nuestro país natal, durante una visita familiar. Vivimos en Estados Unidos, pero al suceder en Colombia, no tenemos seguro médico allá, por lo que fue ingresada como paciente particular.

Hasta este momento, los gastos médicos ya superan los 35.000 dólares, y cada día aumentan debido al tratamiento intensivo que necesita. Como familia, no tenemos los recursos para cubrir esta cantidad, pero creemos en el poder de la solidaridad y en que, cuando la comunidad se une, Dios abre caminos.

¿Quién es Alicia? Alicia no es solo paciente.

Es una mujer de fe, una madre amorosa, una esposa fiel y una sierva de Dios que ha entregado su vida para ayudar a otros.

Quienes la conocen saben que:

• Ora y acompaña a los que sufren.

• Visita enfermos y consuela familias.

• Abre su hogar y su corazón a quien lo necesita.

• Da sin esperar nada a cambio.

• Ha sido un apoyo para muchos… ahora ella necesita nuestro apoyo.

My name is Pedro Reina Gil. Together with my wife Alicia Trujillo Castro and our two children, we have dedicated our lives to serving families, helping those in need, and sharing the gospel of Christ. We have always done this with love, compassion, and without expecting anything in return, because we believe that serving others is our calling from God.

Today, with a heavy heart, I humbly ask for help on behalf of the most important person in my life: my wife Alicia, 53 years old.

On Tuesday, October 14, Alicia suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage with a blood clot. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency brain surgery to save her life. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in delicate condition and under constant medical supervision.

This medical emergency happened while she was in Colombia, our home country, visiting family. Although we currently live in the United States, Alicia had to be admitted to the hospital in Colombia as a private patient, because we do not have medical insurance coverage there.

Up to now, medical expenses have already exceeded $35,000, and they continue to rise each day due to the intensive care she requires. As a family, we do not have the financial resources to cover this amount, but we believe in the power of faith, community, and generosity. We know that when people come together, miracles can happen.

Who is Alicia? Alicia is not just a patient.

She is a woman of deep faith, a loving mother, a faithful wife, and a servant of God who has spent her life helping others.

Those who know her will tell you that she:

• Prays for and walks alongside those who suffer.

• Visits the sick and comforts grieving families.

• Opens her heart and home to those in need.

• Gives generously without ever asking for anything in return.

• Has supported and encouraged many… and now she is the one who needs support.
